Founded in 1987 with the aim of providing a personal , efficient and cost effective quality service for the maintenance and service of Heavy Goods and PSV vehicles. With the addition of Commercial & Coach (UK) Ltd, this division of our group deals with the contract hire and leasing of trucks, buses and coaches. Indeed with any Specialist vehicle related equipment e.g. trailers, tankers, bodies.
May 2009 saw further expansion of the Ian Gordon Group with the launch of our new specialised International Transport division. Which encompasses the road movement of jet engine and wind turbines
Entering the second decade of this millennium, 2010 sees the company further expand, with the addition of a new chapter commencing within the group, the supply of specialised prestige cars for the top end of the market.
This service will be run as a separate trading division as the group moves forward with our existing customer base and the targeting of further blue chip clients, offering and supplying them the total logistics package our company ethos of unrivalled service without compromise.
September 2002 saw the opening of the Glasgow all makes service point. Equipped with the latest vehicle lifting and diagnostics equipment enabling the expansion of the service department to service an ever increasing blue chip customer portfolio. This saw an expansion to the workforce and also encompassing a sales office. This facility is used in the push of all company activities.
Since the early days the company committed to full membership to the Freight Transport Association (1988) and have for over 20 years used their services from technical and legislative training to quality audit services. The benefit of this addition to the existing services offered by IGC were recognized at a very early stage of business commencement and over the years this has assisted us in many spheres. IGC are also full members to the SMTA and the RHA.
The continuing success of the Company is emphasized by its status as a leader in the field. Regular maintenance contracts are currently provided for a number of local, national and international companies. As a number of Oil & Gas Companies are our customers, our highly skilled work force is trained to full ADR and IRTEC Road Tanker status as well as receiving ongoing training to all current legislation with the main objective being to further enhance our existing program of continual development.
The facilities provided are equipped to the highest specification. The Company is developing its commitment to our customers by expanding the current operation and improving the range and quality of the services available thereby providing customers with a more cost efficient and effective service.
By combining maintenance systems and providing a personal service the Company endeavors to ensure that every aspect of maintenance planning and operation is performed to maximum efficiency and minimum cost. In an industry where time is money the Company not only provides a service of the highest quality but a service that can be utilized within the minimum time and effort by regular maintenance with the end objective being MAXIMUM UPTIME FACTOR.
As part of the Company’s commitment towards quality assurance Ian Gordon Commercials obtained accreditation under BS EN ISO9002 some 16 years ago and have honed and improved the system procedures over this time thus allowing us to provide an UNRIVALLED SERVICE WITHOUT COMPRIMISE.
